Happy Birthday to my Baby
The day is here, much faster than I would have hoped. I knew it was coming, yet it snuck up on me. My very first baby is five. FIVE?! I just don't know how that could be! Wasn't it just yesterday that he fit snugly in my arms, with one little foot dangling over? Wasn't it just yesterday that we locked eyes for the first time and I sang him "You are my Sunshine"? Wasn't it just yesterday that I would watch him sleep and listen to the little sighs he would make as he dreamt?
Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled with the little boy he has become. I whole-heartedly celebrate this day. I am happy beyond words to see him grow up and watch him change. It has just happened in the blink of an eye, a very fast blink.
This past year for Nathan was huge. He started school at a great pre k and really blossomed. He made a little bestie, Eli, who is like him in so many ways. They're so fun to watch together. I think my favorite moment between the two of them that I was lucky enough to catch was one afternoon when Eli came over to play. He was just about to leave and had been playing with Nathan's brand new parachute man. Eli started to cry because he liked the toy so much and hated to have to stop playing with it. As his mommy was buckling Eli in, Nathan ran yelled, "Wait!" and ran inside. My sweet little boy came out with his brand new parachute guy and handed it to Eli. He told him he could borrow it and bring it to school the next day. My heart melted. It just shows you the type of person he is.
He still fits into my arms, just in a different way. I still sing "You are my Sunshine" to him, though only one verse is all he gives me, and he still makes those happy little sighs when he sleeps. He is still my baby, and will be even when I am old and gray.
Happy birthday, baby! Love you to the moon and back, Nay.
(I'll be adding an interview video of N tonight! Garett wanted me to wait until he gets home to tape it!)

Ten on Tuesday
1. We have been in overdrive trying to get ready for N's party. I have so many plans for it, and hopefully at least half of them get done! I am trying to paint, hot glue, draw, and cut out all during the 5 minutes at a time that Ellie will sit in her bouncer. Here is your second sneak peek of N's party! These are little bags that I ironed on a skull and crossbones clipart. Emma helped me load them full of chocolate gold coins, although, somehow a few of those chocolate coins disappeared! :) Anyway, these will be in the treasure chest at the end of the treasure hunt!
2. N had a little accident Friday evening and we ended up in the emergency room. He got in a fight with the car door and obviously lost. :( We thought he had a broken nose, but he didn't. He does however have lots of swelling, cuts, and two black eyes. This is an iphone pic of the night it happened.
3. I found THE cutest thing that I am getting Emma, Ellie and McKenna for Christmas! Here is the Etsy link to it!
4. Please let it rain soon, just not on N's party day! We need rain so, so bad. Our yard is seriously dying a fast death. I just cannot keep up with the watering of the yard, and it really shows. We stupidly didn't purchase the option for a sprinkler system when we were building this house. We are both hitting ourselves in the forehead over that big mistake!

5. I want a Silhouette machine! I dream at night about everything that it can do! The options are endless and imagine how much prettier it would make my parties! MUST. HAVE. A. SILHOUETTE!
6. Garett is going on a guy's only trip to Vegas soon, so it will be the first time I am left overnight with all three kids. Yikes! Do you think that deserves a Silhouette machine? ;) I hope he wins big there (and has a good time)!
7. I will be in a baking frenzy the next two weeks! This week I am making my mom some apple cut out sugar cookies to give to her class on the first day of school. She said that last year several of the kids wouldn't eat themat first because they thought they were too pretty. She teaches at a very low income school and many of them had never seen iced cookies in real life. I wish I had time to bake them for her kids at every holiday.
I also have many things on my list to bake for N's party. One of which are these:
That was my test run a few weeks ago.
8. The kids have a new favorite show and I think it is pretty cute. I especially love it because it is so educational and fun! So, if you are a mom to a young child, turn on Super Why!
9. Pinterest is my new obsession! I love it and I don't think I will ever lose an idea I find again! Follow me!
10. The house next door to us finally sold!

Ellie is Two Months Old!
My little Ellie Bean is two months old on Sunday and she has definitely found her place in our family of five. And after her, I KNOW our family is complete--I can't go through another newborn!
She is such a sweet baby and really doesn't cry much, that is, until you put her down. She does not like to be put down at all. She would rather spend her day being held, kissed, cuddled, and nursed. Normally, that wouldn't be a problem, but it makes getting things done around the house virtually impossible. So, if you come over and my house is a mess and I haven't showered, you know why!
A huge plus, though, is that Ellie sleeps wonderfully at night. I usually have to wake her to nurse and then we both fall right back to sleep. I am so very thankful for that!
My favorite time of the day is the mornings. Ellie and I wake up before the other kids and we lay in bed. She just smiles and coos at me. Then Nathan and Emma wake up and join us in our smile fest, usually fighting over who gets to lay on the side she is facing. She has nothing but smiles for us in the morning, though!
And as a fun comparison, here is Emma at two months!
This is Ellie's very first picture, taken minutes after birth...

Preview of the Pirate Party of the Century!
Just kidding! But it will be pretty fun and we have been working pretty hard on it! I even put the kids to work! Here's a tiny peek of what's to come!

N and E
I am so proud of these two! They are such big helpers. They hug, they kiss, they love, they fight, but at the end of the day, they are best friends. And I love them with all my heart.

Yay!
Ellie usually hates to be put down. She loves to be held, cuddled and nursed all day. Usually she screams the minute you even go to put her down, only to give the cutest content sigh when you pick her up.
Usually, but not today! Today she let me put her down several times and she was HAPPPY! It was so, so nice! I had to grab my camera will quick to guve G proof!
