July 4th

Fourth of July this year was very low key since Ellie was so young. I didn't want to travel with her or get her out around a lot of people. I don't think we will be travelling anywhere anytime soon. It is hard enough with two, I can't imagine it with three!

Anyway, we went to my parents' house for about an hour, about long enough to eat dinner. Jason, Anne, and McKenna were there, too. I tried to get a pic of all four cousins in their coordinating outfits, but that didn't quite work out. Ellie fell asleep and out of the 20 pictures I took, not one of them had all three kids looking. That's okay, though, because I really like this one--real life, ya know? ;)

Then, we found a great spot by where we live to watch the fireworks. N sat on top of the car and LOVED the fireworks. He talked about them for days. Em did not love them. in fact, she spent most of the show in the car, cuddled up with me, peeking every now and then. She talked about them for days, too, but in a different way! Ellie liked them surprisingly. She was wide eyed the whole time!

Mimi's Visit

Mimi came to visit the other week and held Ellie for the first time. Luckily, Ellie was good and let her hold her for a bit. I am not so sure that would happen now, though. Seems like all my little Ellie Bean wants to do is be held by me and nurse all day. Makes doing things a bit difficult!

One Month Old

My dear, sweet Ellie Bean, my last baby--I love you more than words can express. You have completed our family, made it whole. It just amazes me how you have found your place in our family so quickly. It is as if you have always belonged.

I love holding you and gazing into your big, gray eyes. You look up at me, holding one of my fingers as tightly as you can and smile. It melts my heart each and every time. During the first three weeks, you slept 90% of the day, but this past week, you have truly woken up. You will drift off in my arms, but the minute I put you down, those eyes pop open, and you let everyone in the house, probably in the neighborhood, know that you want back in my arms. So, I scoop you back up and cuddle some more. This, too, shall pass, but in the meantime, I am going to soak up every minute of it.

Watching Nathan and Emma with you is so much fun. They adore you and fight often over who gets to sit on the side that your head is facing. Nathan will trick Emma into moving and Emma will put Nathan into a neckhold until he moves. And I swear you have reached for them and smiled at them from week one. They give you a million kisses and hugs a day. They simply love being near you, just as I do.

To the moon and back, baby girl.

Fail!

I had a vision for this picture in my head. Can you tell I failed at it? The girl will just not be put down, so this is the closest to a perfect shot that I am going to get for now. Maybe if you squint real hard you can imagine she is yawning and not screaming her head off? ;)

More of my Baby

Lisa and I did a newborn session of Ellie back when she was just a few days old, and I just have not had time to go through many of the ones I took. In fact, the only ones I have edited are the oness that I posted in earlier posts. Lisa emailed me some of the pictures she took and I am in love with them. I can't believe how she has changed in the last month. Speaking of month...

Ellie turned one month old on the 14th! I did my monthly letter to her and even took her pictures in the one month monthsie on the 14th, but haven't posted it yet. I will as soon as I can get around to editing the pictures! I need two hands to edit, and I seem to only have time to sit at the computer when I am nursing and have only one hand available!
