A day that will live on in history!

Nathan pee peed in the big boy potty! I am so, so proud of him!

It all started this afternoon when we were playing outside with his water table. He wasn't wearing a diaper, just shorts. We have been doing this for a long time and he always just tells me when he needs a diaper. So, anyway, we were playing and all of a sudden, he tells me that he needs a diaper. I told him just to pull his pants down and pee outside. To my surprise, he did (I think that he was afraid that we would go inside and not come back out if we went to get a diaper). So, then just now, he tells me that he needs a diaper. I suggested we try the big boy potty and go pee pee like he did outside. It worked!

All along, I have been trying to get him to sit on the training seat and pee. Today, we stood on the step stool to do it. I guess that was the key all along! My baby may be out of diapers very soon!

I never thought seeing a person pee in the potty would make me so proud--only a mother!

We're Homeless...

Until we close on the new house, that is.

We closed on our Woodbridge house this morning and I didn't shed a tear. I will be crying like a baby when we move out, so expect the waterworks then.

There has been a minor setback with the closing of our new house. We were supposed to close tomorrow and then move in this weekend. Well, the underwriters did not get out loan done in time (it was put on a rush since we only had two weeks to close). So, we will be closing next week. Luckily, the people who bought our house are allowing us to stay here until we close and get moved in. I don't know what we would have done if they needed us out. We really lucked out there.

Here is just one picture that I took yesterday of Emma being Emma. She is growing up so fast! I cannot believe that she will be 4 months old in just a few days!

Total Love

These two love each other so much. Emma adores her big brother and her eyes light up everytime she hears his voice or he enters the room. And likewise, Nathan loves his little sissy. He gives her tons of smooches and hugs.

I know this picture is no where near perfect in technical terms, but I think it is pretty darn near perfect in catching the moment. You can really see just how much these two love each other!

The sweetest thing I have ever heard...

Night before last, Emma, Nathan and I were going to bed. Emma was already asleep. I was telling Nathan that I loved him and that he is my sunshine. He looked up at me and said, "Mommy, you make my heart very, very happy." I melted right then and there.

10 on Tuesday--Moving and the New House Edition

1. Moving is so not fun. My house is a mess, things strewn everywhere and boxes in every corner.

2. Nathan thinks that the boxes are his new toys. Currently his favorite game is to put on his super hero cape, turn on the Superman song, cover Garett or me in boxes and have us yell for help. He runs around the house and then comes to our rescue, throwing the boxes off of us. We do this several times everyday. It is pretty fun!

3. I LOVE the kitchen in our new house. This is a picture of it that is online with the current owner's things. I just picture Nathan and Emma sitting on top of that island making cookies with me. I have always wanted a huge island--doesn't hurt that it is a beautiful granite!

4. I have always dreamt of a brick fireplace and cannot wait until our first Christmas in the new house to hang the stockings by it! It is woodburning, which is another plus. The only negative thing about this living room is that G has no idea where to hang the flatscreen his parents gave us for Christmas. The thing is pretty big. I think he secretly wanted to buy a house AROUND the TV. Umm, that wasn't happening!

5. One of the things that we HAD to have in the new house was a room for the kids' toys. We use our formal living room for the toys right now, but couldn't seem to find a house that had one! This house, however, has a sunroom off of the living room that is perfect! So, here is the new playroom! We'll have to get a rug for it, though. The flooring is scored concrete, which is pretty neat. There is scored concrete in the dining room, the kitchen, the breakfast room, and the sunroom. The rest of the house is wood and carpet.

6. I have been trying to come up with ideas for the kids' new rooms. I adore Nathan's current room and we spent days putting it together. I haven't even started packing his room up because it is seriously going to break my heart. I am going to cry like a baby.

We have been trying to prepare Nathan for the big move, telling him that he is going to get a new big boy room and that Ems will get her own room, too. He tells me that he wants a red spiderman bed and that Emma wants a pink one-- a pink spiderman bed, every little girl's dream!

I do think that we are going to give N a super hero room, but not super hero over kill. I want to be able to change the room easily if he outgrows them. I think we'll just do superhero accents.

7. Ahhh, Emma's room! I have been looking forward to giving her a proper nursery since before she was born. I wasn't able to fix one up for her because we new that we were going to be selling this house. But, now, I can go crazy doing it! I already have a ton of ideas, but I want them to be a surprise to everyone. So, when I am done, you can be sure that I will be posting lots of pictures. Think pink!

8. Here is a picture of the backyard. I love the trees, but there is no fence! We are going to have to put up a temporary fence for the dogs until we can afford to fence the whole thing. The lot is just a bit under an acre, so its pretty big which means pretty expensive to fence.

9. The neighborhood pool and "park" is just a few houses down, so I am sure that we are going to frequent that quite a bit. What is weird is that NONE of the neighborhoods in Lufkin have parks. I just find that so strange since EVERY neighborhood in Kingwood has a nice, big one. It is just what we are used to. Anyway, the neighborhood that we are moving into is pretty small and they have their own "park". It is really just a Rainbow Play System, but it will do. I'm sure we'll get plenty of use our of it!

10. Ems is crying now, so I have got to go! Everyone will be getting "We have moved" cards once we get settled in. Less than two weeks now!

Everyday life...

Have I mentioned that I love being a stay at home mom? I love being able to witness every moment of their lives, even the mundane things. Here's a little peak of the every day things that we do!

First off, Nathan has been on a major nap strike. That boy has never been a sleeper, but I refuse to let him not have a nap. I don't mind missing a couple of days here and there, but I need my quiet time every once in a while. Here is what happened the other day during his nap strike...

He must have been pretty tired to fall asleep standing up. Silly boy!

Emma and I do a lot of playtime. She's not a huge fan of tummy time, but what kid is. She loves to just lay in N's room and watch him play. He is so gentle and sweet to her.

At the end of the day, I usually give them a bath together. After I get Emma all washed, I drain most of the water and refill the tub with bubbles. What kid doesn't love bubbles? We've also become quite used to playing with bath paints and bath crayons. I think that Nathan would stay in that tub until he shriveled up into a little raisin!

Its a bird, its a plane...

Its SuperNathan!

Nathan if OBSESSED with super heroes. I actually think that obsessed is not strong enough of a word. He is all about all things superhero, be it the Hulk, Spiderman, Wolverine, Batman, Superman, Cyclops, Iceman...the list goes on and on.

I ordered him a superhero cape the other day and we got it in the mail last week. He wore that thing almost the whole night, including to the park. He thinks that Superman sent it to him (I may have told him that). Garett turns on the Superman music really loud, and Nathan takes off with his arms out and runs all around the house. He is the cutest little super hero ever!

We sold our house!

Well, we actually sold it a couple of weeks ago, but we officially close on the 26th. We went and found our new house last Friday and we close on that on the 27th. I'm excited about moving into it, but I am going to be a mess leaving this house. I mean, this is where Garett carried me over the threshold, where we brought Nathan and Emma home for the first time, when Nathan took his first steps. There are so many memories in this house, so many good times. I'm sure there will be many more great memories in the new house, too!

Love this wall!

We met up with my friend Lisa and her two daughters last Sunday because Lisa and I have both been wanting to take pictures by this wall. I have seen it on so many photographers' websites and have always been dying to go there!

Nathan and Ashley had a blast playing with each other and the bubbles. Thank God that Garett was there to keep the kiddos entertained while Lisa and I took pictures!

Aren't they just too cute holding hands??!!
