What Texas Kid Doesn't Have a Picture Like This???

So, today we had to take THE picture that every Texas child must be subjected to--the bluebonnet picture. I had all these great ideas in my head on how it was going to go down. Needless to say, that didn't happen. Nathan was pretty afraid of the bees that swarmed the flowers and was not into taking pictures at all. I really wanted to get one of the two of them together. Oh well.

Emma enjoyed herself. She really wanted to taste one of those pretty blue flowers and was not too happy that mommy and daddy wouldn't let that happen.

Emma is 5 months old

My sweet baby girl is 5 months old already! We are so blessed to have her in our lives. She is such a joy to be around and is just full of so much personality. I love her to pieces!

This month has been super busy for her! We moved to Lufkin, so in her short little life, she has lived in two houses! She has adjusted well to the move and is excited to have her own room (not like she sleeps in it, though). She loves sitting outside and watching N ride his Hulk motercycle down the long sidewalk to our door. She just smiles at him and coos as the wind blows through her big mohawk.

Ahhh, the mohawk. What can I say about it but that I love it. It is just so her. I cannot tell you how many comments I get about it. Everyone thinks it is so cute, me included. I will be a bit sad when it finally goes down, if it ever does!

Ems is rolling over more and more and is actually pretty close to crawling, I think. Yesterday she lifted up on her knees and scooted. She can scoot herself around in circles and a little forward if we put her on her belly. I think she is going to be pretty mobile pretty fast. She has to be to keep up with Nathan!

We have also started putting her in her exasaucer this month. She loves to hang out it it! Her favorite toy on it is Mr. Sun, just like Nathan's was.

She has several nicknames around the house. I call her my little Morning Glory because she likes to get up pretty early. She wakes up every single morning with a huge smile on her face. Nathan calls her sweetheart, which I think is the cutest thing ever. We also call her Taradactyl because she has started making this loud sound just like a taradactyl. It is hilarious. She "talks" all the time!

She also laughs so much, those big belly laughs. She thinks that her big bubba is just hilarious. All he has to do is look at her and she starts laughing. As I was changing her the other day, N was jumping over her pants and you should have heard her laughing!

Happy 5 month birthday my little Morning Glory. I love you so much, baby.

We're in!!!

I just wanted to write a quick post to let everyone know that we are officially in our new house as of last Thursday! Everything under the sun went wrong (including us in a car accident that shut down 59--but we're ok), but that is all past us now.

I can't find the cord to my computer, so no pictures in this post. As soon as it is found, I'll post pictures galore!

Nathan is adjusting well with the new house, except for the cat that we inhereted. He is scared to death of it. In fact, he woke up 2 or 3 times last night crying about that darn cat. Hopefully once we get the dogs here, that problem will be taken care of!

Oh, and the good news! I went to change the address on my driver's license and guess how long I had to wait at the DPS office? Not a second! I walked right up to my desk and got it changed. Now, that would never happen in Houston!

More good news, you ask? My husband actually ate dinner with us last night! Can you believe it? We all 4 were at the dinner table and ate TOGETHER! It is so good to have him back!

Bit of bad news? I miss Kingwood, but I will get use to Lufkin.

Bumbo Baby

Emma wants to be in the middle of all the action all the time. She isn't crazy about laying down to look at things, either. She wants to sit up and watch everything. She has even began lunging forward while she is laying down. She hasn't quite mastered that yet, though. The furthest she gets is raising her head off the ground.

So, the closest thing we can get to sitting up by herself, is to put her in her Bumbo. You can totally tell that she cannot wait to dive right in to all of Nathan's toys!

Emma is 4 months old!

She officially turned 4 months on the 29th, but since there is no 29th in February, I thought we'd celebrate today! My baby is 4 months!

What a great 4 months it has been, too. She is more and more alert every day. She wakes up each and every morning grinning ear to ear. I think that is her happiest time of the day. She just seems like such a happy baby right now. Don't get me wrong, she does have her fit moments, but she smiles most of the time.

She is also beginning to laugh a lot. She thinks that her big brother is super funny when he speaks to her in baby talk. She is also very ticklish on her tiny little belly.

Grabbing things is her forte, whether it is a new toy or my hair. She LOVES Mr. Crabs and will hold onto him like nobodies business. She also likes Nathan's Spiderman, though he isn't too keen on sharing him.

We also started sitting her in her Bumbo chair because she is getting better and better about holding up her head. It is so funny because Nathan has kind of taken the chair over. Even though he barely fits in it, he still likes to watch TV while squeezed into it.

Have I mentioned how much she adores her big bubba? We spent a little more than an hour outside playing with Nathan the other day and she just watched him and smiled the entire time. She is mesmerized by him. It will be fun to see how the interact with each other as she gets older.

Here is my little princess on her 4 month birthday! I love you so much, Ems and can't wait to see what the next month holds!

Grandma and Grandpa's House

We went to grandma, grandpa, and Rachel's house yesterday one last time before we move. We are really going to miss them, even though they will only be 3 hours away. Its too far!

During these pictures, Nathan was out picking flowers for me. I love that little man!
